It’s March Madness so let’s take to the court! If you are looking for a basketball program for your child here are several of the counties best.

A-Game Sports

This instructional and recreational youth sports facility offers specialized programs for more that 10 sports including basketball. They offer Travel Basketball, Spring Break Basketball. Chris Ward Basketball

Here young, dedicated basketball players can learn to play the game at a highly competitive level. The program assists with the growth and development of athletic, educational, and social skills. They offer basketball camps, player development and AAU. Their camps include summer camps and a Spring Break Academy. The camps focus on skills (shooting, ball handling, offense, proper movement and more) as well as TEAM 5-on-5-Fun and Games.

Great Play of Scarsdale

Billed as “not your typical gym” this interactive gym for kids offers multisport classes for children ages 3 1/2 to 10. Basketball is a part of the sports experience, which also includes skill building for sports such as gymnastics, baseball, football, soccer and hockey. A different sport is studied each week and two skills are taught per class. This is an excellent choice for your very young athlete.

House of Sports

Offering boys and girls basketball this facility offers an extensive curriculum created by professional sports educators. Their goal is to have children of all ages dramatically improve their on-court basketball skills. There are small group training classes held after school and on the weekends. It also sponsors a AAU basketball program that plays in the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. Leagues and tournaments are hosted throughout the year.

Rising Sport Stars

Rising Sport Stars is a Jr. Knicks Affiliate program offering classes, clinics, leagues, and private sessions for kids ages 3 and up. Its approach includes small-group activities and drills in which players are both competing as individuals and working together. This untraditional format encourages players to think and utilize their fundamental skills like shooting, ball handling, passing, and defense.

White Plains YMCA

Committed youth development this Y is more than a gym. Youth basketball is a strong program here. In fact the Y prides itself that basketball was first invented in a YMCA in 1891. They offer an instructional program that introduces kids to basketball for members and non-members. The economical program teaches kids to the basic skills including dribbling, passing, and shooting and is designed for kids ages 3 to 12. There’s also a Youth Movement Academy that is included with Membership that offers basketball classes and skill building.
