It’s time for another fun Westchester weekend, our last one in May! We are officially feeling the summer heat and taking every chance to be outside and enjoy the summer sun. This weekend, we have tons of fun events in and around Westchester like outdoor movie night, music festivals, and more. So grab the entire family and head out for a fun weekend in Westchester.

Movie Night At Ridge Hill

Summertime in Westchester means Ridge Hill becomes a space of outdoor family fun. One of the best experiences to hit Ridge Hill is its Movie Night, which is back again to kick off the summer fun under the sun. Bring the entire family to the South Lawn and get cozy as they play childhood classics and favorites this year. First on their list is Wish. Seating is first come, first serve, and families are encouraged to bring additional blankets and lawn chairs for seating. STEM Sails

The STEM Alliance brings hands-on learning to children aboard the Schooner SoundWaters for a day of sailing in Mamaroneck. This fun-filled educational experience is delightful for all. Children will focus on learning about the ecosystems of the LI Sound, animal adaptations, properties of water, nautical engineering, stewardship & human impact. Not able to make it on Friday? Lewisboro Town Park Playground One-Year Anniversary Party

Residents of Lewisboro are invited to head out and celebrate among their community. Celebrate the one-year anniversary of the latest Lewisboro playground at Town Park. Entry is free, and there will be food trucks and music, which will be fun for every family. Teen Night: Celebrate the River

Take your teens to the Hudson River Museum for a night of teen talent. Teens of Westchester will showcase their skills at the HRM Teen talent show. Artists will showcase their art in an exhibit and show off their spoken word skills in a poetry slam. Guests can enjoy karaoke, face painting, and fun activities in the HRM game room and take a break to gaze at the stars in the Planetarium. Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the night. This is a perfect opportunity to show teens at home some of the many artistic opportunities in Westchester.

The Scarsdale Music Festival 

The Scarsdale Music Festival (SMF) is a family-friendly community event that brings together music lovers of all ages. The festival features bands from Scarsdale and the greater Tri-State Area performing on two main stages and an acoustic stage. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food options from food trucks and vendors. The Grand Tasting Village will showcase elite wines from around the world, specialty cocktails, and food pairings, and guests aged 21 and over can purchase beer and wine by the glass. The Family Fun Zone will also offer carnival games, face painters, arts and crafts, musical demonstrations, DIY and STEAM activities, sports, inflatables, and more. Scarsdale Village Center

2024 RiverArts Music Tour

The RiverArts Music Tour is set to take place throughout the Rivertown villages of Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, and Tarrytown. The event will feature music from over 300 performers filling backyards, gardens, village businesses, churches, community centers, and open green spaces on the banks of the Hudson River. It is known as the largest, family-friendly, free event for music lovers in lower Westchester County. Asian American Cultural Celebration 

The annual Asian Heritage Festival, organized by OCA Westchester & Hudson Valley, is a cultural celebration for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Westchester County. The festival features traditional Asian dances, songs, martial arts performances, and activities for children, such as face painting and games. It also showcases small businesses and non-profits selling Asian-themed cultural artifacts and handmade goods and offers a variety of Asian foods. Youth Fest

Tarrytown Street Fair

Main Street will transform into an outdoor market with food, music, local retailers, arts & crafts, souvenirs, and more. Families can explore more local shopping at Tarrytown’s and Sleepy Hollow’s galleries, gift shops, and antique stores. The event will be rescheduled in case of rain to Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.

Albanian Cultural Celebration

The upcoming cultural festival will feature Albanian cuisine, traditional dancing, sports, and live performances by Liria Dedvukaj, Valdet Luka, and DJ Edi. Westchester County aims to promote diversity and inclusion and offer an opportunity to learn about Albanian heritage. The festival at Kensico Dam Plaza will take place rain or shine, with informal seating on the lawn. Bicycle Sundays

2024 marks the 50th Anniversary of Bicycle Sundays in Westchester County. Since 1974, a 6.5-mile stretch of the historic Bronx River Parkway has been open to non-motorized traffic on selected Sundays from May to October. Westchester County Parks and Westchester Parks Foundation sponsor the program. Rules include lane usage, helmet requirements, and restrictions on certain activities. Music & Movement

Join Ms. Tati for her interactive class, where children can engage with puppets, musical instruments, and props in a fun and educational environment. This class is offered three times on Saturdays in July and August. The first session is from 10 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. and is designed for non-walkers.
