10th Anniversary of The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival
Exciting news from The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival! They will be celebrating their 10th year on Saturday, September 30th from 10:00am-4:00pm.
This year will be headlined by Mary Pope Osborne, author of “The Magic Treehouse Series” as well as 180 renowned children’s book authors and illustrators.
Located at the Chappaqua Train Station in Chappaqua, the festival includes book signings, readings, illustrator demos, a kids’ zone, gourmet food trucks, a bubble bus, and more.
As its 10th year, this annual festival promotes community, inclusivity and literacy. Thus, they will have authors covering different reading levels and multiple genres including a larger selection of graphic novels than in years past, LGTBQ themes, and books that celebrate diversity.
Some authors include Victoria Kann, author of “Pinkalicious;” Sonja Cherry-Paul, Author of “Stamped (For Kids);” Alan Gratz, New York Times best selling author of 19 young children’s novels; Maulik Pancholy, actor and children’s book author of “Nikhil Out Loud” and “The Best At It.” Additionally, a percentage of the proceeds will go towards literacy programs throughout Westchester and Metro New York.
The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival has quickly grown from when they began in 2013. They started with 65 authors to 180, and from 4,000 visitors, to 8,000 from all over the tri-state region.
