Downtown White Plains 2023 Holiday Market

The countdown is on to the holidays! One of our favorite ways to shop for loved ones is to support local markets in Westchester like the Downtown White Plains 2023 Holiday Market. Families and visitors will find tons of artisanal, handmade and unique vendors as well as a line-up of some new holiday experiences. Incredibly, many of which are free.

The holiday vendors, which is approximately 45, was cultivated by Melissa Tomlin, founder of 914Pop-Ups, from a wide applicant pool. Melissa noted, “you’ll find nothing but quality at this market.” Vendor highlights include Inclusive Christmas; 4mydogs; Manor Sangria; Florrie Kaye’s Tearoom; Be Yourself Bookshop; All Heart Baking Co.; Hudson Valley Collective; and much more!

As for the new additions, families can enjoy special events and activations all month. This includes  visits with Santa and characters such as Polly Penguin, Mr. Snowman, The Grinch and daily free children’s craft kits. Other highlights include outdoor firepits with occasional acoustic live music; ice sculpting demonstrations with Certified Master Carver and Guinness World Record Holder Richard Daly; and live entertainment such as stilt walkers, carolers, and a ukulele crooner.

Additional special event highlights include cartoon sketches; piano performances; aura readings; charcuterie board making; candle-making; and much more. Kids can also write a letter to Santa and have it mailed in the North Pole mail box. Visit wpbid.com/holidaymarket for the complete line-up and times of the special events.

Additionally, visitors will find a New Year’s Eve wishing wall where they can write and can pin their wish for 2024 to a community wall. These wishes will be transformed into confetti that will be released at the City’s Downtown White Plains ball drop on December 31st.

Igloos at the Downtown White Plains 2023 Holiday Market

For cozy moments, visits can relax and sit in one of the eight heated igloos. Here, families will find a warm and cozy spot to play a board game, enjoy take-out meal from local restaurant, or a treat such as S’mores. Here, you can also purchase pizza, a holiday cookie platter, and/or a mezze platter. The igloos are for 6 and 8 people and can be rented for 90 minutes.

The igloos at the Downtown White Plains 2023 Holiday Market cost $50 and comes with four complimentary beverages, including the choice between hot Glühwein (the mulled wine traditional to European Holiday Markets), beer, or hot chocolate. Additionally, families can bring their own food to enjoy in-between events and shopping.
