Heart Health Month Events
February is Heart Health month. During this time, The American Heart Association and many organizations promote heart health awareness, especially to women. This is critical, since according to stats from the CDC, “nearly half of U.S. women do not recognize that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women.” In fact, “heart disease is the number one killer of new moms. This is currently the leading cause of maternal mortality.”
In Westchester, there are several heart health month events where you can support the cause. Plus, learn more about how to lead a healthy lifestyle. Below, we’re sharing a list of local heart health educational events, fundraisers, and more.
