The Historic Hudson Valley, the largest cultural organization in Westchester County, recently announced an extensive lineup of events to celebrate the season, and we’re sharing it all with our Westchester families. Enjoy a classic tale come to life, winter tours, and more. Start planning for family-friendly fun and add these events to your calendar this year.

Dickens’s ‘Christmas Carol

This December, Westchester families can embrace the holiday spirit by attending performances of Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” at the historic Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow, featuring master storyteller Jonathan Kruk and musician Jim Keyes. Listen along while this classic tale unfolds, accompanied by music that will truly transport your family into this story.

Ticket prices are $47 for adults and $42 for children under 18. Ages 10 and up. Philipsburg Manor, 381 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Winter Tours of Philipsburg Manor

Weekends, December 7th- December 22nd
Winter Tours of Philipsburg Manor

In 1750, Philipsburg Manor was home to 23 enslaved individuals known to have lived and labored there. Interestingly, this is the country’s first living history museum focused on slavery in the North.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and young adults, and $10 for children. Tours are free for Historic Hudson Valley Members. Additionally, admission is timed. Philipsburg Manor, 381 North Broadway (Route 9) in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Winter Tours of Union Church of Pocantico Hills

Union Church, a non-denominational Protestant church organized in 1915 with John D. Rockefeller as one of its founders, features stained-glass windows created by renowned European artists Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall. The church will offer guided tours from December 7 to December 22, with tickets priced at $10, while members of Historic Hudson Valley can access the tours for free. Admission is available by timed ticket only. Union Church of Pocantico Hills is located at 555 Bedford Road, Tarrytown.

Winter Tours of Washington Irving’s Sunnyside

Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, recognized as America’s “Founding Father of Literature” and creator of various Christmas traditions, offers winter tours of its picturesque estate along the Hudson River. The house has been restored to reflect its 1850s character, showcasing original furnishings belonging to Irving. Guided tours will be available from December 7 to 22 on Saturdays and Sundays, with tickets priced at $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and young adults, and $13 for children. Historic Hudson Valley members can enjoy free admission. Visitors must secure admission via timed tickets. The estate is located at 3 W Sunnyside Lane, Irvington, just one mile south of the Tappan Zee Bridge. 3 W Sunnyside Lane, Irvington, NY
