It’s time for another awesome Westchester weekend! We’ve got tons of events to add to your list of things to do with the family. Enjoy movie Saturdays, playtime storytime, The Little Mermen, and so much more. Plenty of fun and family-friendly things are going on this weekend, and it’s time to start planning, so check out our list of awesome things happening this weekend.

Lunar New Year Festival

Families are invited to celebrate the Year of the Snake with a fun day of arts, crafts, performances, and demonstrations for everyone. The event starts with a traditional lion dance. This will be followed by Chinese classical dances, Indonesian gamelan music performances, a tai chi demonstration, and a sogo-chum performance. Families can learn origami, calligraphy, and knitting from experts. They can also join Family Art Workshops featuring snake paper crafts and fú posters. At 2pm, there will be a special screening of The Sky Tonight, which will showcase traditional Chinese constellations. 511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10701

Playtime Storytime

Enjoy crafts, playtime with toys, and the opportunity to make new friends. This program is intended for babies and toddlers, and families are encouraged to participate! Please note that a parent or guardian must stay in the room throughout the program. Siblings are also welcome to join. Bird Feeder-Watch Fridays

Join Audubon Naturalist Ryan MacLean for a relaxing afternoon observing birds at the Greenwich Audubon. Learn about local songbirds visiting the Learning Center’s feeder station and get tips on identification and feeding. Discover how to participate in Cornell’s Project FeederWatch, a community science initiative that tracks birds at feeders in various locations. Black History Month: Movie Saturdays

Movie Saturdays encourages kids to discover inspiring stories through cinema. Enjoy a family-friendly film that showcases Black culture, some historical aspects, and accomplishments. Join the library for a fun and educational experience with interactive discussions and activities following the movie screenings. Light snacks will be available.

Iona University Men’s Lacrosse vs. Hofstra

Iona University’s men’s lacrosse team is gearing up for an exciting and highly anticipated season opener against their long-standing rival, Hofstra University, hailing from Long Island. The Princess and the Frog

Head to the Jacob Burns Film Center and watch as Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose), a young woman with dreams of opening her own restaurant, begins her journey when her life takes an unexpected turn. She encounters a frog prince who is eager to regain his human form. A pivotal kiss sets them off on a comedic journey through the enchanting bayous of Louisiana while the wicked voodoo magician Dr. Facilier (voiced by Keith David) pursues them. The Little Mermen

The Little Mermen offers a fun Disney tribute concert for fans of all ages. They perform popular songs from The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Frozen, and Encanto, covering nearly a hundred years of beloved music. The band wears full character costumes, bringing the magic of these films to life. They tour across the country and have recently performed with famous artists like Stevie Nicks, Green Day, and Joan Jett. Break! The Urban Funk Spectacular

This show features the best Breakers in the world. It combines Hip-Hop music with amazing acrobatics, backflips, spins, and stunts that will impress the whole family. With expert dj’s on turntables, “BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular” follows the history of Hip-Hop over the last thirty years.
