Delicious Food, Donuts, Parties, and More at Larchmont’s Billy & Pete’s

With two locations in Larchmont, the restaurant offers a great family-friendly vibe as well as a fun location for cocktails for date night or a night out with your friends.
Created by restaurateur Billy Bishop, the restaurant has two locations (one with a pizza focus; the other with burgers) as well as outdoor igloos at Billy and Pete’s Social, fun events like tarot reading Tuesdays, and of course incredible food. Westchester Family: How did the idea for Billy’s & Pete’s come about?
Billy Bishop: I grew up in Larchmont and always wanted to have a local place in the town he grew up in. I pride myself as being a natural at hospitality with a friendly demeanor and welcoming spirit. I’m also an animal lover and realized how few places were dog-friendly, so we came up with the idea of a dog friendly restaurant — our logo includes a man and his dog (Pete).
I have owned a few places in Manhattan and was set to realize his dream of a Westchester restaurant in March 2020. As we all know, Covid-19 arrived to change things around, however, we were very lucky to open in June of that year (outside only!) and still have the support of this amazing town and their people.
Westchester Family: Tell us more about each location and how they are different?
Billy Bishop: We started with our original location Billy & Pete’s Social and we felt so supported by this town that we decided to open a new location when a terrific space became available with the retirement of the former owners. At Social our concept was chef-inspired pizzas, but we felt the town needed a dedicated burger place with live music and a fun bar vibe.
We incorporated activities like corn hole tournaments in summer, tarot reading Tuesdays in the colder months, trivia night on Wednesdays and live sports and bands the rest of the days. The idea is to create community and place for social fun.
Social, on the other hand, comes in as the perfect place for families, girls’ night out, date night, and pre-game for concerts and other activities. Both locations have the signature Billy & Pete’s fun vibe.
Westchester Family: What are some of the go-to dishes families have to try?
Billy Bishop: At Social, our famous Detroit-style pizza is a favorite. Vegan and gluten free options make us the best spot to accommodate everyone. We are also the only place west of Sicily to have the famous Trapwich sandwiches with our very awesome Trapizzino bread with delicious options for filling it! We also have salads, grain bowls, and grilled veggies for those carb avoiders!
At the Burger Bar, our ingredients are locally sourced and everything is made fresh. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are the most popular dishes and our dedicated kids menu makes this the perfect spot for the whole family. We offer veggie burgers, salads and grain bowls to make everyone happy!
Westchester Family: Was Side Door Donuts always a part of the business?
Billy Bishop: Our original dessert of brown sugar cinnamon homemade mini-donuts with chocolate dipping sauce was so popular that we decided to pop it out as an additional way for people to enjoy our cooking and Side Door Donuts was born! Fun and Fancy, creative and zany, they are made fresh every weekend morning and available at the side door entrance under the awning. (open on Saturdays from December to March and on Saturday and Sunday from April -December). The donuts are always available on our dessert menu at Social though!
Westchester Family: Anything else to add?
Billy Bishop: Our “Crush” cocktails are a signature beverage and greatly loved! They are made with fresh fruit juices in a variety of flavors – Old Fashioned Crush-Strawberry Basil-Key Lime- and everyone has a crush on them! They are served in mason jars over ice and we also have a “to-go” cap for them!
We also host parties for our guests special times and we plan it all – menu, decor, music, etc – creating a fun environment for everyone. We hire local young people to work for us to give them an opportunity in the industry and after school and summer jobs.

Side Door Donuts
