Incredibly, the Westchester County Library system is made up of 36 local libraries. Each offers their own unique programming and events where you and your kids can connect, meet new friends, and discover an endless assortment of books. Additionally, local libraries offer a robust calendar of activities, events, and storytimes. Below, we are sharing some library storytimes for kids that you can enjoy throughout Westchester.

Bedford Free Library

Every Thursday from 11:15am – 11:45am, enjoy “Stories, Songs & Surprises” on the Village Green. This library offers various themed readings and activities for pre-schooled aged children. For caregivers with babies (ages 4-12 months old), try “Baby Bounce and Rhyme” on Wednesdays from 9:30am – 10:00am. Plus, enjoy Musical Munchkins or Musical Mother Goose on Wednesdays from 10:15am-11:0am for ages 12-30 months. 32 Village Green, Bedford, NY 10506, 914-234-3570.

Chappaqua Public Library

Enjoy the “All Together Storytime” every Wednesday from 10:30am-11:30am at the Chappaqua Public Library. Guests have to register in advance as spaces are limited. The storytime includes books, rhymes and songs and allows you to register a “pod” of five people. Storytime is for ages birth to five years old and masks are required. The “Saturday Storytime” in their courtyard and “Parking Lot Storytime” on Thursday at 10:30am is a fun way to meet new parents outside. 195 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua, NY 10514, 914-238-4779.

Greenburgh Public Library

Here, you can enjoy “Summer Storytime” (ages four-seven) on Mondays at 3:30pm and “Baby Laptime, Chat-time” on Tuesdays at 10:00am, and “Movers and Shakers” for walkers up to age three. Registration is required. 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, NY 10523, 914-721-8200.

Harrison Public Library

Discover a variety of kids’ programming at the Harrison Public Library. This includes storytime at Amelia Park and “Bouncing Babies in the Park” on Wednesday, August 3rd. 2 Bruce Avenue, Harrison, NY 10528.

Katonah Village Library

Kids can move, groove, and listen to stories from Ms. Laura at the Katonah Village Library.  Held on Mondays at 11:00am, the program is designed for kids ages 1.5-three years old and the class is limited to 20 families. They also offer book clubs for tweens and teens. 26 Bedford Road, Katonah, NY 10536, 914-232-3508.

Mount Kisco Library

This library offers storytime (for kids 18 months old-five years old) every Thursday from 11:15am-11:45am. They also have “Read to Rover” program where kids (ages five and up) can read books to a dog named Rover. Other programs include a virtual “Bilingual Storytime” (18 months-five years old), every Wednesday at 11:15am and a virtual “Family Storytime” (18 months-five years old) every Thursday at 11:15am. 100 East Main Street, Mt Kisco, NY 10549, 914-666-8041.

New Rochelle Public Library

There are tons of programs for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers at the New Rochelle Public Library. This includes the “Baby Sharks Storytime” (for ages newborn-age two) on Mondays from 10:30am-11:00am at the Huguenot Children’s Library. This interactive storytime includes a mix of fingerplays, songs, and books. For kids ages three-five years, enjoy “Whale’s Tales” every Thursday from 10:30am-11:00am. Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library

Enjoy an outdoor story stroll as a part of their “Summer Story Walk.” Held everyday, you and your family can participate at your leisure.  The”Adopt a Stuffed Animal Reading Buddy” session allows your child to adopt a stuffed animal from the library and read to them. 1 Haseco Avenue, Port Chester, NY 10573. 914-939-6710.

Pound Ridge Public Library

Come together with other parents or caregivers as a part of their “All-Age Stories at the Library” on Tuesdays at 11:15am and Saturdays at 11:15am and 2:15pm. 271 Westchester Ave, Pound Ridge, NY 10576. 914-764-5085.

Scarsdale Public Library

Enjoy “Baby Bookworms” (ages 0-12 months) every other Wednesday from 10:30am-11:30am or “Toddler Time” (ages two and up) every Tuesday from 10:30am-11:30am. Additionally, they offer “Library Playdate” for ages two-five years old where you and your little ones can meet new friends and play with toys provided by the library. Somers Library

Families can enjoy “Outdoor Storytime” for kids ages up to three years old on Tuesdays from 10:30am-11:30am. Warner Library

Babies to kids five year olds will enjoy the fun “Teddy Bear Storytime” where they will get to read to a teddy bear every Thursday at 6:30pm. They also offer “Bilingual Storytime” and a “Garden Storytime” at The TaSH farmers’ market. Enjoy stories and songs in English and Spanish, as well as an interactive activity.

White Plains Public Library

The White Plains Library has an extensive calendar of offerings for families. This includes the “Let’s Groove Music Class” (ages three months- five years old), “Storytime” (ages two-six years old), and “Storybook Dancing” (ages two-six), to name a few options. 100 Martine Avenue, White Plains, NY 10601. 914-422-1400.

Yonkers Public Library-Riverfront Library

This library offers a variety of programs and storytimes for kids, including “Two Tails/Tales Storytime” where kids (ages five-12) get to read to the dog, Cooper. Additionally, kids age 0-five and five-12 can enjoy “Tales at Three” reading time on Tuesdays from 3:00pm-4:00pm.
