Join the fun in the kids’ room for a creative arts and crafts session. Families will have the opportunity to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by making a collage inspired by his iconic speech. MLK Day of Service 2025
The UJA Federation of NY, working with nonprofit partners, is leading an important project to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. They are inviting thousands of New Yorkers to volunteer. Participants can help by decorating and packing “Blizzard Boxes.” These boxes include full meals with soup, vegetables, fruit, milk, and protein, all provided by the organization. The boxes will go to food pantries in Westchester and the Bronx to help those in need. Adults and teens can also assist by sorting medical supplies saved by The Afya Foundation. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Parade
Head to the Historic Springfield Baptist Church in Beacon for the 47th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration. This year’s theme, “Keeping the Dream Alive,” reflects the celebration’s focus on unity, community, and diversity. The event will kick off with a continental breakfast, followed by the 11th Annual MLK Jr. Parade, which was founded by Pete Seeger and the SDC Coalition. Guests can then participate in the Annual Celebration Service, delivered by Rev. Barbara Williams from Springfield Baptist Church. After the service, lunch will be served, providing an opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate together in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
