Bedford Playhouse (Bedford)

The historic Bedford Playhouse recently celebrated their 75th anniversary. Renowned for their impressive film library and events, the Playhouse is a staple for movies, cultural events, and community. This summer, check out their Playhouse Lawn Series where you and your family can see nine outdoor events. This includes plays, musicals, live music, the Broadway in Bedford series, and much more. In the fall, check out the Yellow Brick Road Fest where you can watch the “Wizard of Oz” at the beautiful Maple Grove Farm in Pound Ridge. The Picture House (Pelham)

This historic movie theater offers a way to see current art house-style movies and experience educational programming. They also offer educational programming for kids with a summer camp, a school residency program, and classes. Jacob Burns Film Center (Pleasantville)

This film/education center is the go-to movie house for any film lover. Serving the Westchester community for 20 years, Jacob Burns Film Center is your go-to place to see artsy/indie films as well as enjoy educational programming. For kids this includes their popular JBFC Kids program and summer camp where kids can learn filmmaking and animation. Celebrity guest speakers are frequent at JBFC where they visit for talkbacks and interviews following their recent releases. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (Yonkers)

The Alamo chain quickly grew where there are now 36 located throughout the country, including one in Westchester. The Yonkers location was opened in 2013 and features six theaters with a lobby that was designed based on “Dr. Strangelove.” Food and drinks are delivered right to your seat where you can enjoy classic movie theater bites like bottomless popcorn, churro popcorn, loaded fries, and pickle fries, to name a few options. Showcase Cinema de Lux City Center 15 (Ridge Hill and White Plains)
