New Rochelle Opens New Pop-Up Skating Rink and Winter Carnival

Staying local and looking for something fun to do during February break? We have some exciting new with the opening of the brand new pop-up ice skating rink in New Rochelle! Located in Lincoln Park, this outdoor skating rink will be open for February break. Here, families will find a giant pop-up rink with special activations during the week. Incredibly, the skating rink is free. Additionally, skating rentals will be provided at no cost. New Rochelle Pop-Up Skating Rink Details

In addition to the free skating, the first 100 visitors each day will receive a complimentary cup of hot chocolate. Brought to life by the New Rochelle Community Justice Center, the rink will be open from February 17th-February 24th. Incredibly, the pop-up rink will be three times the size of the holiday market, offering a fun thing to do for one or all of the days!

Additionally, throughout the week, families can enjoy live music, a DJ, hot chocolate, and shopping from local vendors. This includes a range of artisan goods, food, drinks, and more. Local vendors include Decota Naturals, Savage Custom Crafts, Humble Bumble, Sibalhe Teas, Asantis Jewels, JMckinley Bags, Matrix on the Go, Rays Empanadas, and Taqueria del Valle.

Local council members David Peters and the New Rochelle Community Justice Center will also be on-hand during the official kick-off on February 21st.

“We are so excited to offer our community one last taste of the joyous winter season,” Council Member David Peters (District 3) said. He added, “Ideal for local families to visit while school is closed for mid-winter recess. We’re thrilled to be open the Lincoln Park ice rink and Winter Carnival as a fun and free activity for children and their families to enjoy!”

Winter Carnival Details

In addition to the ice skating, families can also enjoy a winter carnival on February 21st. This includes a range of activities for the community. Families can expect arcade, carnival games, a bounce house, arts and crafts, wellness treatments, and delicious food. Additionally, there will be a heated cafe to enjoy bites in between ice skating.

Lincoln Park Ice Rink Hours

Saturday, February 17th-Tuesday, February 20th
12:00 to 7:00 pm – Free public skating, live music, hot chocolate, and food and drinks from local vendors

Wednesday, February 21th
11:45 am – Opening remarks by Council member David Peters and the New Rochelle Community Justice Center
12:00 to 7:00 pm – Free public skating, music, hot chocolate, and local vendors
12:00 to 7:00 pm – New Rochelle Community Justice Center Winter Carnival

Thursday, February 22-Saturday, February 24
12:00 to 7:00 pm – Free public skating, music, hot chocolate, and local vendors

Additionally, the City of New Rochelle is offering a free shuttle via CircuitNR, the City of New Rochelle’s free electric shuttle service. They will provide rides to the rink within the designated service areas. Finally, free on-street parking will be available around Lincoln Park.

In addition to these engaging winter events, the City of New Rochelle is experiencing a transformation in the city. With a close proximity to New York City, the city is working on embracing their location while creating, funding, and hosting  a range of recreational activities and public programs. This includes festivals, fairs and summer concerts. Additionally, this includes seasonal and holiday events.
