Skate Into Spring
The Marc S. Zeplin Foundation recently hosted their 5th Annual Family Fun Day, Skate Into Spring, at the Westchester Skating Academy in Elmsford. The event honored Marc. S. Zeplin, a young father who lost his life on 9/11 at the World Trade Center and served as a mitzvah project for his son Ryan. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF) and Tuesday’s Children’s Project Common Bond, a nonprofit organization designed to support those impacted by terrorism. The event featured music, skating, a magician, a balloonist and cupcake decorating for all.
WHUD Kid’s Fair
The Westchester County Center was the scene of the 16th annual 100.7 WHUD Kids Fair. The well-attended event proved to be as popular as ever. There were family education booths, activities, entertainment and plenty of samples and giveaways. Westchester Family was proud to be there handing out magazines and raffling off a kid’s bike.
Go the Distance: Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital
This year, Grand Marshal Nathan Tormey, a 3-year-old former Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital patient, kicked off the Go the Distance Walkathon held on the hospital grounds. The one-mile, non-competitive walk and family fun day included live entertainment, games and giveaways for all. Funds benefited Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Foundation at Westchester Medical Center.
Lyndhurst Open House
Lyndhurst has long been a popular venue for elegant private parties held in the Carriage House Courtyard. This historic site of the National Trust is a 19th-century architectural gem set in a 67-acre park. At a recent open house Lyndhurst announced that they are now working with four food providers offering patrons more selection when planning their special event.
