Pumpkin World: Where Jack O’ Lanterns Glow
Can you believe it’s almost Halloween? From Halloween events to parades, there’s a huge list of activities for families to enjoy in Westchester and Rockland County. Recently, we enjoyed a new immersive walk-thru experience at Clover Stadium with Pumpkin World: Where Jack O’ Lanterns Glow.
Hosted by Jack O’ Lantern Journey and Fever, families can enjoy a visual pumpkin wonderland. This includes a mesmerizing jack o’lantern walking trail and breathtaking displays of intricately carved pumpkins.
Located in Rockland County’s minor league baseball stadium, my kids and I enjoyed soaking in the magic of these pumpkin displays. The experience started at the base of the stadium where we took pictures with a variety of Halloween-themed and pumpkin backdrops. This area also includes a party in the Pumpkin Village as well where we saw live carvings, a DJ, and more. Additionally, this area includes merchandise, beer, food and local fare such as apples from a nearby orchard and kettle corn.
Pumpkin World: Where Jack O’ Lanterns Glow Highlights
Following the picture opportunities, we walked towards the walking experience. There is a short line before entry where you can take more pictures of the displays. Once inside, we enjoyed walking through a variety of themed, illuminated worlds.
Highlights of the experience include seeing towering dinosaurs, princess pumpkins, superheroes, creatures under the sea, classic Halloween monsters, Adams Family, sports’ icons, a Wizard of Oz display, and much more. The self-paced walking experience took us around 45 minutes as we viewed more than 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins and displays.
Each station is accompanied by lively and engaging music that took us along the festive path. Here, we viewed the displays with awe and wonder. Families can also enjoy an augmented reality scavenger hunt along with pumpkin characters, The Gourdies. This offers an interactive and technology-infused adventure. At the dedicated pumpkin patch, visitors have the chance to handpick the perfect gourd to take home as a memento.
The designs are made from molds from real pumpkins. These designs are meticulously carved into stunning masterpieces by artists and carpenters. Incredibly, the mold they produce from the pumpkin fruit, allows them to conserve them for more than 7 years and reuse them to create new art designs.
