12th Annual 9/11: Serve and Remember Day of Service

Looking for a way to give back and donate your time with your kids in Westchester?

With the tragic anniversary of 9/11 approaching, Volunteer New York and Westchester County Government have joined forces to create a curated list of ways Westchester residents can give back, including numerous volunteer options for families.

The 12th annual 9/11: Serve + Remember takes place on September 10th and 11th where you’ll find over 25 family-friendly opportunities listed on Volunteer New York to support and help various Westchester non-profits and community organizations to support and aid residents in need.

This includes helping at food pantries, community garden harvesting, diaper packing, outdoor clean-ups, nonprofit painting, revitalization projects, assembling arts and crafts kits, and much more.

Projects on September 10th will be located on-site at various nonprofits throughout our region. Projects on September 11 will take place at only one of two volunteer hubs: Iona University in New Rochelle and the Shames JCC in Tarrytown.

Check out five great volunteer opportunities. These are great ways to give back kids during the 12th Annual 9/11: Serve + Remember weekend — and beyond.
