Skateboarding is an incredible sport that keeps kids moving and active. It’s also incredibly challenging and fun. Great for both boys and girls, kids have the ability to learn tricks, test their strength, and boost their confidence. Throughout Westchester, you’ll find a range of free skateparks where your kids can practice their skills in safe spaces. Here, they can also flex and test out in-line skating skills using ramps and a range of levels. Most of the parks are free and generally open throughout the year to help your kiddo flex their skating muscles as they test out and master some incredible moves.

Rye Skatepark

This multi-level skatepark has an area for younger kids as well as ramps for more experienced riders. 51 Milton Rd, Rye, NY 10580.

Sideny E. Frank Skate Park

Enjoy access to this state-of-the-art facility. Here, kids can learn and master their skateboarding skills, as well as practice on bikes and skates. Sideny E. Frank Skate Park, Intersection of 5th Ave. and Potter Ave., New Rochelle, NY 10801.

Gregory C. Jackson Jr. Memorial Skate Park

Located Snowden Park, this park is home to a collection  fun and immersive levels. This includes a mini ramps beginners to help them get used to shorter levels. Snowden Park, 2 Water St, Ossining, NY 10562.

Nyack Skate Park

This popular 11-acre skatepark is located along the Hudson River, offering families 4,200-square-feet of space with multi-level ramps. Currently, families can also find a nearby ball field, playgrounds, and an open field for picnics and play. Additionally, this park is wheelchair accessible. 53 Piermont Ave, Nyack, NY 10960.

Yonkers Skatepark

This 7,000-square-foot skatepark is home to a collection of rolled, railed, and dipped levels. This park is open 24 hours a day. However, only skateboards and rollerblades are permitted. 348 Tuckahoe Rd, Yonkers, NY 10710.

Patriot Skate Park

Located in Yorktown Heights, this skate park can be used for in-line skating, skateboarding, and biking. This includes a collection of ramps and rails at varying levels. 2nd Nature Skate Park

For indoor play, check out 2nd Nature. Located in Peekskill, this skatepark offers a huge range of options where your kids can practice. This includes options for all levels and abilities with a range of ramps, bowls, rails, and ledges. Here, kids can practice, hone their skill, and learn. The Skate Park at Memorial Field

Located in Mount Vernon, this skatepark is home to a range of multi-levels and ramps. As a newly renovated facility, this facility is open from 10:00am to dusk. Additionally, find a huge stadium for walking and watching sports and a new tennis facility. 431 Garden Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10553.

Ardsley Skatepark

Located in Pascone Park, this skatepark is open from April-November where kids of all levels can practice and play. However, skaters under nine years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Additionally, all skaters have to sign a waiver to be able to participate. The Skatepark is open Monday to Friday from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:30 PM during the season. In the park, you’ll also find four tennis courts, basketball court, softball field, soccer fields, skatepark, playground area, gazebo, picnic tables, restrooms and a seasonal snack bar. 507 Ashford Avenue, ArdsleyNY 10502
