Sporting Events in Westchester County
We all know NYC is the go-to place to catch a professional sporting event. However, there are also several places throughout the County and surrounding area where you can see sporting events in Westchester with your kids — for a fraction of the cost we might add! This includes minor leagues, up-and-coming collegiate players, and prospective professional players. Check out our list below of where to a sporting event not to far away from home.
Catch a baseball game from the New York Boulders (formerly Rockland Boulders) all summer long featuring local opponents like the Empire State Greys, the New Jersey Jackals, the Sussex County Miners, and more. Check out their game schedule for their current list of home games. Tickets range in price but they do offer a family Sunday pack where you can get two kids meals and four tickets to the game. In addition to seeing a baseball game, they also offer a Nike baseball camp in the summer for kids ages 7-15 years old. Campers are taught by Boulders coaches who will learn and practice hitting, fielding, base-running, team play, and more. Enjoy a basketball game right in Westchester by catching a game from the Westchester Knicks. They have games from November-April at the Westchester County Center, which showcases an incredible collection of NBA D-League players. As the official minor league of the NBA, you and your kids can watch some amazing basketball players — who also happen to be NBA prospects. For more baseball, check out a game from The Hudson Valley Renegades, a minor league baseball team and affiliate of the New York Yankees. Located in Fishkill, NY, you can see The Hudson Valley Renegades play their opponents like the Brooklyn Cyclones, Rome Braves, Greenville Drive, and much more. The 2022 schedule is going strong now and runs until September. A division of the Westchester Community College Athletics, you and your family can watch up-and-coming men and women college athletes. This includes baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, track & field, bowling, volleyball, and more. Check out their website for schedules for each sporting division.
Binderhoops Premier Basketball Showcase
See high schools players attend this showcase to show off their hard work as they play continuous basketball games. High school coaches, certified referees, trainer, camp jersey, and NCAA recruiting guides will be watching them play for recruitment. Held on Sunday, September 11th from 8:30am-2:30pm, this could be a fun way for your kids to see hardworking players go for their dreams. Participate or a watch a game from Big League Sports. The league offers games for adults such as kickball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, dodgeball, and more. Games and practices are held throughout Westchester county. This includes games in Westchester Community College in Valhalla,; SUNY Purchase College; New York Sports Club in White Plains, and the Rockland County YMCA in Nyack, to name a few locations.
