SPRING FAMILY FAIR: JOIN THE CIRCUS!

This year’s annual Spring Family Fair celebrates the Big Top! The Ben Jam troupe returns to flip the traditional French circus on its head, as the animals tame the tamers. Conductor, composer, and Juilliard Pre-College faculty member Adam Glaser transports families to the middle of a three-ring circus during The Composer’s Paintbrush: Carnivals and Festivals, the third installment of his acclaimed multimedia musical series. Circus-related crafts, costumes, and clowning workshops will complete this afternoon of family fun!  (See complete schedule of events below)

SPECIAL CIRCUS-INSPIRED SNACK PLATE

To coincide with the Spring Family Fair, the Morgan Café will offer circus treats inspired by Degas, Miss La La, and the Cirque Fernando. The special snack plate features caramel popcorn, soft petite pretzels, and pink lemonade.

The Composer’s Paintbrush: Carnivals and Festivals!

Renowned conductor, composer, educator, and Juilliard Pre-College faculty member Adam Glaser returns to the Morgan with the next installment in his acclaimed The Composer’s Paintbrush series. This time, he brings his engaging brand of musical humor and infectious enthusiasm to this fun, interactive program exploring how composers use music to “paint” the sights and sounds of carnivals and festivals!

 

The Ben Jam Presents: Miss La La and the Roustabouts

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls… Miss La La’s circus is all around you! Step into the Big Top and gaze upon acts of defiance and daring sure to test the limits of your imagination! Prepare yourself for the topsy-turvy! Nothing is as it seems! Come one, come all!

 

Craft a Clown

3pm

Using an array of colorful trimmings such as glitter, rhinestones, feathers, pompoms, tulles, and much more, educator Deborah Lutz will help children create extravagant clown gear.

 

Quiet Time: Reading in the Library

3pm

Life is a circus! Do you need a short break? Join Morgan education staff members Laura McGowan andDenise Rompilla for some quiet reading in Mr. Morgan’s Library.

 

Clowning Around

3:30 & 4pm

Ever wanted to be a clown? It’s not so hard, you know! All you have to do is be yourself ! Join Mismo de Otro and Ben Lundberg in the auditorium for games, a little clown training, and your chance to clown around on stage!
