Arc Stages (Pleasantville)
Kids as young as 10 months old can enjoy classes at Arc Stages via their Little Arcs class. Here, kids and their parents participate in singing, movement, puppetry, instruments, storytime and more! Random Farms Kids’ Theater (Elmsford)
Random Farms offers a ton of classes for the budding theatrical artist. This includes group and private lessons for kids in grades K-9 where they can hone in on their singing and acting skills as well as school break camps and summer camps. They also offer “Be In A Show” classes (devised by grades) where kids will learn everything they need to perform on stage over the course of 10-11 weeks. The Play Group Theater offers kids’ program for ages 4-14. This includes programs such as sketch comedy, theater lab, mainstage, private classes, and some really interesting summer camps. Sandbox Theatre offers many fun classes for kids and adults. This includes programs for kids ages 3-grade 8, such as Sandbox Tykes where kids will perform songs from Disney movies; acting for kids; and acting and improv. The Westchester School of Speech and Drama offers a variety of programs for kids with a focus on helping them to build confidence while also developing their acting, public speaking, and improv skills. Theater O (Ossining)
Theater O offers a variety of classes and a summer camp for kids. Programs are devised by age and include acting, improv, musical theater, movement, playwriting, directing, sketch comedy, and more. Artistree offers a full roster of theater classes for kids. Programs start at age 4 and run through 12th grade featuring Preschool Broadway, Mini Musical, Performance classes, and more. The Yorktown Stage Kids program produces three Broadway Musicals per season. This includes a KIDS versions for ages 6-12 year olds, JR versions for ages 8-18 year, and full versions of musicals for kids ages 13-18 years old. The Division of Workforce Development & Community Education at SUNY Westchester Community College offers many theater education courses for kids and adults. On March 25th, they are hosting a Spring into Theatre Event, offering a la carte theatre classes throughout the day. This includes Let’s Make a Play for Junior Playmakers, Acting 101 for Teens, Acting 101 for Adults, Everyone Can Sing, and Intro to Playwriting.
