Get out and about to explore family-friendly Westchester. Head to the best Westchester museums, like the Westchester Children’s Museum, the Hudson River Museum, or the Neuberger Museum of Art. Visit the Kensico Dam in Valhalla or head to one of the county’s amazing free playgrounds.
Did you know you can find plenty of nature for kids to enjoy in Westchester? Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River is an amazing green space with open space, hiking trails, a nature center, and so much fun. We also love Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining and Stone Barns Center for Agriculture in Pocantico Hills. In the summer and fall you can ride bicycles on the North and South County Trailways.
On the weekend we recommend a leisurely visit to Muscoot Farm in Somers. Stay for an hour or take a picnic and stay all day. Admission here is always free. History abounds in Westchester so make sure you visit the venues operated by Historic Hudson Valley. The family-friendly programming at theses site allows kids to have fun as they learn about the history of Westchester. In autumn be sure to pick apples at one of our wonderful orchards and return to pick your pumpkin from the pumpkin patch or cut down your very own Christmas tree.
