Volunteer as a Family for Pitch In For Parks 2023
Volunteering a great way to support your local community. It is also a great way to participate, as a family, to give back and show your kids how they can support and do their part to support their community.
As a family, there are many ways to give back in Westchester, including ‘Pitch In For Parks 2023.’ Held from April 17th-April 22nd, this annual event offers opportunities for families to paint, rake, prepare and plant flower beds, clear trails and shorelines, restore wildlife habitats, and remove invasive vines from trees at. variety of parks in the County.
Hosted by the Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department, this event is the County’s largest volunteer event to collectively help clean up the areas parks, preserves, and reservations.
While the County welcomes all volunteers, they do require that participants register in advance to determine roles. Volunteers will be provided with tools and should bring their own water and wear clothing that can get dirty as well as close toe shoes.
