There are some really amazing food producers and products made right in Westchester County and the surrounding area. The Poppery: Made in Mount Kisco, this treat shop is known for their cake pops. These pops are a work of art where you’ll find bright, vibrant sweet treats for any occasion. Greyston Bakery: Renowned for their brownies, Greyston Bakery is also a non-profit organization that works to create job opportunities through their open hiring model. Incredibly, this has given over 1,300 people jobs throughout manufacturing at their Yonkers location. Their brownie is also quite delicious, and used in Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Cookie ice cream. The Spice Theory: This spice company was created by Dr. Corrie Amos, a board-certified anesthesiologist, culinary enthusiast, and health and wellness advocate, where you’ll find flavorful, small-batch spices. Featuring fun spice names like “Welcome to Jamrock,” “Scotch on the Rocks,” “Natual Mystic,” and “Fern Gully,” to name a few options, that are robust in flavor without any artificial additives. Lloyd’s Carrot Cake: Lloyd’s is the place to get carrot cake in the area. The Twisted Branch: For local honey and maple syrup, visit The Twisted Branch in Valhalla. Noble Pies: Pie lovers of all ages, will love digging into the freshness of a homemade pie from Noble Pies. Their seasonal menu includes pies, cookies, cakes, scones, etc — all with a focus on in season fruits. 825 Main Products: For fresh, homemade tomato sauce, you have to try the Hudson Valley-based brand, 825 Main Products. This includes their 825 Main Marinara Sauce made with with California plum tomatoes and 825 Main Pizza Margherita Sauce made with Italian plum tomatoes. They can be found at specialty stores in the area or online.
