It’s finally here: Halloween weekend! This weekend is all about local parades, crafting, trick-or-treating and more! There are also some great local hiking events, community walks, and Día de Los Muertos events that you and your family can check out.

Kid’s Craft for Halloween: Monster Making (Mount Kisco)

Hike Haunted Hollow (Croton-on-Hudson)
Take a pre-Halloween hike with your family to Croton Point Park. Village Historian Marc Cheshire and Park Naturalist John Phillips will led this tour of Haunted Hollow and Money Hill. 2nd Annual VEG Cares 5K to Benefit Local Pets (Purchase)

New Rochelle Downtown BID Main Street Children’s Costume Parade! (New Rochelle)
Dress up and join in on this annual Halloween parade. Parade begins on Main Street near Monroe College and goes down Memorial Highway to Library Green’s Ruby Dee Park. Merchants and community partners will also be on-hand to greet and cheer on the parade. Downtown New Rochelle.

Enchanted Forest
Enter the Enchanted Forest for a guided adventure featuring a cast of whimsical characters and familiar forest friends. Costumes are optional, but encouraged! Keep it spooky, but keep it safe by wearing comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. This event takes place outside. Please no strollers or dogs. Halloweekend & Day of the Dead (2022)
Visit the Hudson River Museum for their annual Halloweekend celebration. Take a haunted historic home on a Gothic Glenview Tour, learn about the stars in their spooky planetarium show, The Sky Tonight: Night Frights, create a jar-o’-lantern to take home in our Family Art Workshop, and decorate your own mason jar with the Wizard of Lizards! Woodfield Cottage: A Haunting Halloween Interactive Experience (Valhalla)
Have a spooky family experience at this interactive experience. Wear your Halloween costume, carve pumpkins, and toast marshmallows as you listen to Halloween stories. Families can then create scary art and watch Halloween movies by candlelight such as “Casper” or “Corpse Bride.” Additionally, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. Lyndhurst Spirited Mansion Weekend (Tarrytown)
Visit Lyndhurst Mansion for their “Explore at Your Own Pace” event. Families can Visitors can walk through the mansion without a guided tour, view the seasonal decorations, and take in beauty of this historic mansion. This includes viewing the decorated entrance hall, reception room, parlor, library, and Victorian dining room. Refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase on-site.
